I entered the library field with a public service focus. Over the past five years I’ve become more and more interested in the back-end of information organization and preservation. As I am already in over my head with student loans, I can’t afford to go back to school to re-specialize, so I have embarked on an attempt to teach myself everything I need to know to make a career move from academic reference librarian to metadata and digital librarianship.
